SENTINEL PRINT PACK S/5

SENTINEL Print Pack is an event driven, high performance, AIDC data management tool designed to process enterprise-wide data collection and label printing requests, regardless of format, technology or system - including host applications from SAP, Baan, JD Edwards, Oracle, PeopleSoft and others.

SENTINEL Print Pack automates the printing of bar code, compliance or RFID labels created with LABELVIEW™ or CODESOFT® label design software. Data for label printing can be easily collected from portable devices using the IDEAM™ plug-in, working as a bridge to connect data collection to label printing.

 

SENTINEL DATA EXCHANGE S/5

As the name implies, SENTINEL Data Exchange is all about exchanging data, and is specifically designed to meet the growing needs of AIDC supply chain integration. SENTINEL Data Exchange precisely and easily manages advanced automated label printing needs and directs the movement of collected data through the enterprise, serving as a single AIDC solution for your enterprise environment.

SENTINEL Data Exchange has all the functionality of the SENTINEL Print Pack product, and also includes the following additional plug-ins:

• Web Service input plug-in collects data from web applications and can process the data using any SENTINEL process plug-in.
• Database process plug-in processes data received from an input plug-in and updates, inserts or deletes records in one or multiple databases. The Database plug-in can also activate stored procedures in a database.
• Web Service Client process plug-in uses a sentinel to call web service functions along with parameters from received data

 

NEW FEATURES IN SENTINEL PRINT PACK S/5

Remote Administration
Setup, management and editing of system configurations can now be accessed remotely via an Intranet or through the Internet.

Advanced XML Preprocessor
A new feature in the mapper allows XML files to be quickly analyzed and mapped to label designs.


Data Collection Integration
A new input adapter supports the IDEAM data collection product range, creating a bridge between the data collection network and the label printing network.


Web Service Adapter
Using the World Wide Web Consortium’s (W3C) standard for integration, transferring data into SENTINEL Data Exchange as either SOAP or HTTP requests is quickly becoming a standardized task.


Web Service Client
Just as SENTINEL Data Exchange can receive data through web requests, it can also call other Web Services on the network and those requests can include data and commands for execution, depending on the capabilities/objects exposed through the service.


Database Adapter w/Query Manager
This output adapter allows advanced SQL functionality for transferring data to enterprise databases like Oracle and Microsoft SQL.
