The Symbol WS5100 wireless switch from Motorola is a high-performance enterprise- class
wireless LAN with the centralized intelligence and
management capabilities you need to manage a very large
mobile workforce. With its thin, sleek design and the
ability to support up to 48 Access Ports and 32 WLANs, this
switch will fit into any standard equipment rack. The
ability to balance connections between different ports
ensures quality application performance. The automatic
connect feature has virtually eliminated the need for manual
configuration of the access points.
The comprehensive security mechanisms of the wireless switch
include access-control, authentication, and encryption, and
can be deployed at various locations, including the network
and the servers. With many different encryption options such
as WEP, WPA-TKIP, KeyGuardTM MCM, WPA2 and WTLS VPN, you can
rest assured that all information will remain secure.
Authentication programs are also available to ensure only
authorized systems are able to access the ports.
The Symbol WS5100 wireless switch is designed to be integrated with the
reliable approach of multi-layer networking to enable
predictable and high performance wireless networks, while
preserving network integrity. In addition, the wireless
switch can be implemented using the standard networking best
practices of modularity.
