The Symbol VC5090 mobile computer features a 624 MHz Intel XScale®
PXA270 processor and Windows CE 5.0 Professional, providing
support for a wide range of applications and allowing
real-time processing. The integrated 802.11a/b/g WLAN and
Bluetooth v1.2 WPAN of the Symbol VC5090 allows for seamless
integration with existing WLAN for powerful real-time data
visibility, printing, and cordless scanning. Wireless
support is also able to perform voice-picking, and
Voice-over- IP via a push-to-talk handset functions.
Symbol’s Mobility Services Platform (MSP) allows all devices
to be controlled from one remote location. The Symbol VC5090
is RFID-ready and can be easily integrated into future
Symbol RFID reader solutions.
The rugged construction of the Symbol VC5090 features an
IP66-sealed aluminum housing and MIL-STD-810F military
rating allowing the computer to withstand extreme
environments, vibration, and shock. Also included is a
standard heater, which allows the Symbol VC5090 to be used
in cold environments with temperatures as low as -22°F
/-30°C. The high-resolution touch screen is easy to read and
enables easy data input, even for applications requiring
gloved and protected hands.
