The advanced Symbol LS7808 horizontal slot scanner from
Motorola has an omni-directional scan pattern that reads the
bar code regardless of orientation, eliminating the need to
precisely align products to the scanner. The Symbol LS7808
scanner features a flush mounted, in-counter design and large omni-directional
scanning window. An additional handheld scanner can be
attached through the integrated secondary port. The Symbol LS7808
in-counter scanner has a large 5" (12.7cm) by 5" (12.7cm) removable scanning
window, which allows for easy removal for cleaning or
repair. Also included is an integrated Electronic Article
Surveillance (EAS) which allows the user to scan bar code
and deactivate the EAS tag simultaneously. The ability for
the Symbol LS7808 barcode reader advanced software algorithms to
reconstruct poorly printed or damaged bar codes allows for a
quality read on the first-pass.
The Symbol LS7808 also makes it easy for future upgrades. An
integrated onboard support for multiple interfaces allows
you to use your scanner with many different types of POS
hosts such as a keyboard wedge, RS232, USB, IBM and
Motorola's Synapse, which is convenient now and helpful in
the future. The LS 7808 has ability to read 1D bar codes,
including Reduced Space Symbology (RSS).
