The Symbol LS 3408-ER scanner facilitated a universal cable set which expands possibilities for replacement and upgrades. The rugged Symbol LS 3408-ER barcode scanner has the capability to read bar codes from as far away as 45 ft (14.6meters) and as close as 5 inches (13cm) which aids in the versatility needed in most industrial applications. The shell of the Symbol LS 3408-ER is rugged and sealed to IP65 standards, which prevents dust and water from leaking into the scanner. This scanner has also been tested to withstand repeated drops of up to 6.5ft (2 meters) to concrete. For access and storage purposes, the Symbol LS 3408-ER features a built-in metal hook for pulley attachment. On the exterior, two large LED-enhancing windows and an extra loud 80 decibel (db) beeper have been installed for clear and audible feedback to users. The Symbol LS 3408-ER laser scanner also features a bright 650nm laser aiming dot for added scanning convenience. In addition, a dual-scan angle has the ability to switch from standard width to wide width under software control, allowing for accurate bar code reading on menus and pick lists.
