The Symbol AP-5131 access point delivers simplicity to enterprise
level high-performance wired and wireless networking. The
access port offers 802.11a/b/g wireless networking
flexibility, the latest wired and wireless security
standards, and the speed required to support applications
such as voice and video. IT expertise in smaller locations
is unnecessary and the built-in router, stateful inspection
firewall, VPN, DHCP server, QoS engine eliminate the need to
purchase and manage multiple pieces of equipment. The Symbol
AP-5131 supports IEEE wireless networking standards and
provides compliance with the EU’s RoHS Directive, ensuring
ease of integration into locations around the world.
The Symbol AP-5131 access point provides the flexibility you need by
offering both one and two dual-band radios. When support of
one band is needed, single radio version can be configured
to support either 802.11a or 802.11b/g wireless networking.
When two bands are needed, the dual radio version can be
configured to support both 802.11a and 802.11b/g wireless
networks – or single-band data services and full-band rogue
AP detection services, which instantly discovers
unauthorized users. Other security features include
authentication secured through 80211i, Wi-Fi, WPA and WPA2,
fast roaming throughout the building with KeyGuard and
Kerberos, and secure corporate remote network support with
the VPN and 802.1x. The Symbol AP-5131 offers a complete
suite of dual and single-band antennas, providing the
versatility to obtain radio coverage in nearly any
environment, with a minimal number of access points.
A variety of options for installation are available with the
Symbol AP-5131. The access port can be mounted either above
or below suspended-ceiling tiles, on the wall, or placed on
a desk. The standards-based 802.3af Power-over-Ethernet
eliminated the need to run power to the device.
Symbol’s Mobility Services Platform (MSP) allows for
management simplicity and flexibility for the Symbol
AP-5131. The MSP offers a centralized intuitive web-based
interface for convenient management, enabling either local
non-technical staff or the IT professional staff in your
network operation center (NOC) to easily manage and monitor
one or all Symbol AP-5131 Access Points. And Symbol
Enterprise Mobility Services offers comprehensive support
and technical expertise to design, deploy and maintain
successful mobility solutions.
