Note: This Socket 2DSC 5X is optimized to read very
small font or high density bar codes. This capability,
however, can be limited by many factors beyond the
control of the scanner, including resolution and
contrast of the bar code label, the type and amount of
ambient lighting and more.
The Socket 2DSC 5X is powered by Adaptus Imaging
Technology from Hand Held Products. Offering superior
performance and versatility, Adaptus represents the new

The Socket 2D Scan Card 5X is the perfect accessory to
support DMV, military, package pickup and delivery,
healthcare, automotive and other applications requiring
both bar code scanning. Just plug the Socket 2D Scan
Card 5X into the CF slot of your Windows CE Pocket PC or
HPC2000 or Windows XP notebook or Pen Tablet. Draws
power from the host - no batteries or power adapters
needed.
Integrated Type I CF card scanner plugs into the Type I
or Type II CompactFlash slot of Windows Powered Pocket
PCs and Handheld PC Pros.
CF-to-PC card adapter (Part #4000-978, sold separately)
can be used to support the 2DSC 5X in PCMCIA slots

SocketScan software (included) converts scanned bar code
characters into virtual keystrokes so that any Windows
application treats the characters as though they were
typed on a keyboard
SocketScan enables the creation of prefixes and
suffixes, such as Tab or Carriage Return, to further
eliminate keystrokes in the data entry process
SocketScan "Scan Demo" reports symbology, length and
decoded data (in ASCII or hex) of any scanned bar code
(Symbology must be supported)
