Professional Edition

All of the label design and most of the data access of the Seagull Enterprise Edition. Network compatible, but not optimized for control by other software.

Delivers –All of the label design and printing features of the Seagull Enterprise Edition and most of the advanced data access capabilities, including ODBC. Fully network compatible. Control by other programs limited to a simple "command line" interface.

Leaves Out – No ActiveX Automation or Commander integration. No SAP IDoc interface. No automatic e-mailing of logged events and errors. Although otherwise network-compatible, Install program will not setup a single Seagull BarTender as shareable from multiple workstations.

Licensing – Licensing is based on the number of workstations running Seagull BarTender, regardless of whether or not they are on a common network. Supports an unlimited number of networked printers.  

Seagull Professional Edition contains the features needed by experienced label designers, without sacrificing the ease-of-use required by first-time users. The Seagull Professional Edition delivers a very wide range of capabilities, including extensive data sourcing, and more:

Professional Edition Licensing: based on the number of workstations on which BarTender will be installed. Licenses purchased as part of a "multi-user" package, such as BT-PRO3 or higher, must be used by one company and may not be split up for distribution to different companies.

* Professional does not support specification from within other software of which printers or data files to sue.
For automated job control, use an Enterprise edition.

Part Numbers for Shipments to Countries Outside of USA and Canada:
Only "International" Editions of Seagull BarTender are shipped to locations outside of the USA and Canada. International versions of the above part numbers are formed by placing an "i" after the "32" in the part number.  For example, the single-user part number is BT32i-PRO.

Print-Only Versions of Seagull BarTender Professional Edition
Users that need to print at multiple stations (but don't need to design at all of them) can lower their costs with "Print-Only" versions of BarTender. Print-Only software is ideal for use on all workstations where the ability to load and print existing label designs is required, but modifying the label designs before printing is not. (The Print-Only BarTender can still read input data files and accept keyboard data entered into custom "prompt" dialogs. You just can't make any changes to the label design itself.)

Networking and Site-Licensing Requirements for Seagull BarTender Professional Edition
Companies often need to use many copies of Seagull BarTender either individually on multiple PCs or shared on a network. Licenses for multiple workstations is as follows:

• BarTender Professional and BarTender Basic Editions:  Licensing is based on the number of workstations on which Seagull BarTender will be installed, allowing a defined number of users to print to an unlimited number of printers.

BarTender Site Licensing is the most cost-effective way to use the Seagull BarTender Professional and Seagull BarTender Basic Editions on multiple workstations.  Licenses include a CD (or set of diskettes), standard documentation, and a license for the appropriate number of users. Additional documentation is available for an extra charge.

For the purposes of site licensing, we consider a "site" to be a local shared network, a building or a group of buildings located in a single office park. For the BarTender Enterprise Edition, each local area network requires a separate license. For licensing at multiple buildings across a wide area network, contact your sales representative.
