Flexibility and durability in an ergonomic package
The Falcon 4400 Series mobile computers are an ergonomic mobile computer designed for warehouse, distribution center, and retail in-store environments. This portable data terminal balances ergonomics and ruggedness with maximized flexibility. Mobile computing features include the Windows CE or Windows Mobile operating systems, 802.11b/g wireless local area networking and an Intel XScale microprocessor.

The PSC Falcon 4400 Series incorporates a wide variety of scanning options to allow for application specific solutions. Bar code options include:

A 3.5" QVGA color display maximizes the viewable area and increases productivity by reducing the need for user scrolling while providing visibility in a wide range of ambient lighting conditions. A 2000 mAh Lithium Ion battery and integrated handle (4420 models) allow the Falcon 4400 to execute a scan intensive shift without a break.
The PSC Falcon 4400 Series mobile computers are available in 4 keypads. The 26-key alphanumeric keypad is primarily for numeric data entry. The 48-key and 52-key full alpha keypads allow numeric and text data entry. Both the 52-key and 48-key are available with 5250 Terminal Emulation keypad overlays.

The PSC Falcon 4400 Series mobile computers are designed to handle demanding data collection tasks in commercial and industrial environments. The thermoplastic urethane overmold survives repeated drops to concrete from 5.0' / 1.5 M. An IP54 environmental rating prevents moisture or dust damage. The loudest beeper on the market, 86dBA at 24" / 100dBA at 10 cm, provides audible feedback in noisy operating environments.

Out-of-the-box, the PSC Falcon 4400 Series mobile computers offer a variety of Microsoft applications specific to the chosen operating system. Windows CE includes the Microsoft WordPad, Internet Explorer, and Inbox while Windows Mobile offers the Microsoft Office Mobile package. Both operating systems provide developers with the greatest flexibility for application development. Available tools include: Microsoft's eMbedded Visual C++ 4.0; Visual C# .NET; Visual Basic .NET; Visual Studio 2005. Ease of development is coupled with the Falcon Desktop and Management Utilities for effortless fleet deployment and management.

Additionally, PSC Partners offer a variety of vertically oriented development tools for the Falcon 4400 Series. These include Wavelink Studio and a broad selection of terminal emulators for VT100/220, IBM 3270, IBM 5250, and HP700/92 applications.

The wide variety of accessories for the PSC Falcon 4400 Series mobile computers include charging cradles, battery chargers, softcases, holsters, various cables and other accessories. Among these, the Powered Vehicle Dock leverages wireless local area networking of the PSC Falcon 4400 to serve as a low cost Vehicle Mount Computer. This cradle allows for easy one handed insertion and removal of the PSC Falcon 4400. Dual RS-232 serial ports power accessories like the PowerScan handheld scanner and a serial printer.
