One of the most important first steps in developing an RFID program is creating a smart label development environment where you can test smart labels with your supply chain applications. The Printronix Smart Label Developer's Kit (SL5000r MP2 DK) enables users to print and encode RFID labels and test read ranges, speeds, and locations to optimize RFID usage.

The Printronix SL5000r MP2 Developer's Kit includes everything you need - SL5000r MP2 RFID printer and encoder, software, certified RFID smart labels, software migration tools, manuals and support - to create your RFID developer's environment right out of the box. By generating RFID Smart Labels with the developer's kit, you can begin your process to:

Test RFID label and tag read ranges, read speeds and data capture

Determine optimum smart label placement

Establish the best locations for fixed RFID reader terminals

Check for radio frequency interference

Once you're satisfied that your RFID test environment has provided enough insight into your smart labeling requirements, you can define and start your RFID program. You will then want to move to the SL5000r MP2 Smart Label printer.
