EPCglobal standards
Electronic Product Code (EPC) is designed to uniquely identify products in the supply chain. Printronix Smart Labels are based on Version 1.0 EPCglobal standards for Class 1 tags. Tags are designed for read/write applications.

Performance
Printronix Smart Labels are designed for the supply chain applications and Printronix thermal transfer ribbons provide matching print image toughness. Label facestock is premium coated for best thermal transfer print quality and are available with a choice of general-purpose permanent or freezer grade adhesives.

Use of Genuine Printronix thermal transfer ribbons will ensure optimum print and bar code quality, consistent imaging performance and extended life of the printhead.

Smart Label technology
Printronix Smart Labels combines the technology of thermal transfer pressure sensitive labels with Radio Frequency Identification (RFID). RFID capability is added to the pressure sensitive label by embedded a RFID tag in the label. This RFID tag contains an antenna attached to a microchip that stores data.

Power for the RFID tag comes from an external reader via an air interface or radio frequency (RF) link that operates at specific UHF frequencies- 915 MHz in the US and 869 MHz in Europe. Data can be written or retrieved from Printronix Smart Labels.

With Printronix SmartLine SL5000e™ RFID printing solution, RFID, bar code and human readable information can all be combined on a single label. This allows you to comply with RFID supply chain requirements while maintaining your bar coding efficiencies.

Class 0+ and Class 1 General Purpose Smart Label
Printronix Media 110 RFID 64 bit Class 1 Smart Label with Squiggle Antenna and 96 bit, Class 0+ Smart Label with Dual Dipole Antenna supports UHF 915 MHz applications. Designed for general-purpose case and pallet labeling applications. Labels are tested and certified for printing and encoding with Printronix SmartLine SL5000e Printer.
