Intel processors, high brightness screens,
many connection possibilities and capable
of handling maltreatment.
Completely new opportunities for integration
with other systems and applications
are available because the unit is equipped
with built in speakers. As an option, you can
get built-in Bluetooth support for wireless
connections to scanners, printers, headsets
etc.
The possibilities are limitless. You get 2 USB
2.0 contacts for connecting units for high speed
data transmission, e.g., for video
transmission from cameras.
Created for challenging environments
The unit is developed to tolerate long term
brutal treatment in industrial environments
from it’s shock-resistant magnesium cases
to sturdy internal components that are classified
for industrial use. Extra reinforcement
is built into card and screen holders, cabling,
and mounting brackets. The computers are
rigorously tested in certified laboratories
and in real industrial environments to ensure
that they tolerate dampness, extreme
heat and cold, bumps, shock, and vibrations.

The service lid on the Tx800 makes it very
handy to:

Change the battery
Change the Compact Flash memory
Reach yet another USB2.0 contact (reboot
the PC, change Firm Ware update drivers
etc.)

Usage of standard connectors
(USB, PS/2) in tough environments
All this can now be done without removing
the computer from the vehicle or even remove
a single cable.
Reliable and safe
Åkerströms Tx800 comes with battery
backup and a power-saving function, built
into the accompanying Trux Computer Manager.
This software can also senses power-supply
dips and can, for example, lower the screen’s
light intensity and shut down the computer
after a specified time so that user data
isn’t lost. For safety, the screens can be automatically
blacked out when vehicles are
moving so that operators aren’t distracted.
Åkerströms Tx800 is protected against damages
from lightning, power surges, and
similar accidents by its external power converter.
