The Lava LavaPort-PCI doubles the number of serial ports in a PC system, by adding two ultra high speed ports.

The board's 460.8 kbps transfer rate is four times faster than typical motherboard serial ports, and it greatly improves communication between a PC and various serial peripherals. An external modem and a digital camera can be connected with ease to this two-port board, saving valuable system resources.

The Lava LavaPort-PCI uses two 16650 UARTs, each with a 32-byte FIFO buffer that allows the CPU to send and receive bursts of data from the port without overrun errors. The 16650 UARTs also have highly efficient interrupt handling, eliminating communication bottlenecks and resulting in smooth, uninterrupted data flow.

The Lava LavaPort-PCI automatically selects a free address and IRQ during installation, virtually eliminating user error and resource conflicts.
