| Option |
Description |
| Thermal
Transfer Option (78-2300-01) |
Factory
or field installable with a Phillips #2 screwdriver. Thermal
transfer printing requires the use of an ink/wax or resin
ribbon. Thermal transfer printing provides exceptional clarity
and scannability.
If you decide to upgrade to
thermal transfer in the future, a kit is available for purchase.
The kit includes the thermal transfer mechanism and necessary
hardware. Simply open the media cabinet of the printer, remove
the cover plate's single screw, place the transfer assembly into
the slot and secure it in place with three screws. |
| Internal
Rewinder (78-2295-01) |
Factory
or field installable. This option was designed primarily to
rewind the backing only from an 8" roll of media. The
rewinder does not support rewinding to a media core. It only
allows for rewinding on the 2.0" O.D. hub. Provisions have
been made to rewind labels and backing, but only up 6" O.D.
and without rewinding onto a core. |
| Standard
10mil Media Cutter (78-2295-01) |
Field
installable. The media cutter is attached to the printer with
thumbscrews and a cable with an RJ11 type connector. It is not
necessary to access the electronics side of the printer to
install the cutter.
When a label has been cut, the
printer retracts the label stock before printing the next label
to prevent the loss of top-of-form registration. The cutter is
capable of cutting media up to .01" thick. The cutter life
is designed to exceed 500,000 cuts. The cutter operation is
initiated by a DPL™ command. The
nominal rated print speed of the printer remains the same, but
the overall throughput is reduced due to the cutting and
backing-up operations. |
| Media
Cutter Tray (DPO 78-2231-01) |
Field
installable; ships in a separate box from the printer. The tray
is self-aligning with respect to the printer and does not
require any special tools to install. The tray is capable of
stacking a minimum of 2" (51mm) of cut labels with only the
use of gravity. The tray collects labels with a minimum length
of 2" (51mm) and a maximum label length of 6.25"
(159mm). |
| Light
Duty 5 mil Media Cutter (78-2316-01) |
Factory
or field installable. The light duty media cutter functions like
the standard cutter, however the maximum thickness it is capable
of cutting is 0.005". |
| Label
Present Sensor (78-2293-01) |
Factory
of field installable. When using a present sensor, the printer
unwinds label stock for the supply reel, prints the label, and
automatically presents the label out the mouth of the printer.
The label present sensor detects when the label ahs been removed
and the printer then retracts the label stock before printing
the next label, preventing the loss of top-of-form registration. |
| Peel
Mechanism and Present Sensor Assembly (78-2294-01) |
Field
installable. The peel and present sensor assembly is designed
to: 1) allow the printer to unwind label stock from the supply
reel; 2) print the label and automatically peel the label from
its backing; 3) leave the peeled label at the mouth of the
printer; and 4) rewind the waste label backing on the optional
rewinder assemblies. The optional rewinder must be installed
along with the peel and present assembly. The label present
sensor detects when the label has been removed and the printer
then retracts the label stock before printing the next label. |
| Internal
Ethernet Connectivity (78-2345-01) |
Field
installable. The Internal Ethernet card is a self-powered micro
print server that plugs into the electronics expansion slot in
the back of the printer. The card is a multi-protocol print
server that provides shared network access to the printer for a
variety of network protocols and operating systems. The device
supports the AppleTalk (Ethertalk), Microsoft LAN Manager, Local
Area Transport (LAT), IPX (Netware) and TCP/IP protocols. The
print server can queue multiple jobs that are pending and
service those jobs in the order received from the hosts. The
print server can auto-negotiate between 10BASE-T and 100BASE-T
media connected to its RJ45 port. |
| Twinax/Coax
Connectivity (78-2305-02) |
Field
installable. Allows for AS/400 host connectivity. Twinax and
Coax connectivity is provided as an internal option currently
based on the I/O Corp. interface. |
| RS422
Connectivity (78-2332-01) |
Field
installable. Allows for serial connection runs up to one mile in
length. |
| Flash/Font
Expansion PCB (78-2321-01) |
Field
installable. The flash/font expansion features two modules each
of 4MB flash memory. The first module supports factory instaled
ILPC, Kanji, or simplified Chinese font sets. The second module
features 4MB of addressable flash program memory that will
support downloadable AGFA® scalable
fonts, downloadable TrueType® fonts,
graphics, and label formats. |
| International
Language Print Capability (ILPC) (78-232-01) |
Field
installable. ILPC consists of the font/flash expansion board,
plus one of the following font selections:
CG-Times - Western European and
CG Triumvirate™ Bold Condensed
Scalable Font (78-232x-10)
Kanji Gothic B Scalable font (78-232x-01)
Simplified Chinese BG Scalable font (78-232x-01) |
| I/O
Expansion Board - RTC & GPIO (78-2256-01) |
Field
installable into one of the expansion slots in the back of the
printer with two screws. This card provides support for Real
Time Clock (RTC) and a 9-pin DIN connector for a General Purpose
Interface (GPIO). The GPIO is designed to let the printer
interface with outside applications, such as applicators. (Not
available for the DMX I-4206.) |
| I/O
Expansion Board - RTC, GPIO, 8MB of FLASH (78-2256-02) |
Field
installable into one of the expansion slots in the back of the
printer with two screws. This card provides support for Real
Time Clock (RTC) and a 9 pin DIN connector for a General Purpose
Interface (GPIO). The GPIO is designed to let the printer
interface with outside applications, such as applicators. The
8MB of additional Flash are provided for extended print length
and internal module allocations for fonts and graphics.
(Not available for the DMX I-4206.) |
