Multifunctional card and barcode reading keyboards with touchpad and freely programmable keys
Increasingly, programming professionals are using Windows software for POS and banking applications. And on a cluttered professional desktop, an integrated pointing device is a major benefit. Which is why we decided to incorporate a touchpad into our keyboard, alongside data input devices such as barcode decoders, magnetic stripe card scanners and smart card readers. Extra programmable function keys make entering data even easier.

Cherry MultiBoard Keyboards Specifications

Barcode decoder
- 2 independent barcode interfaces
- Automatically recognizes and decodes the following barcodes: Code 39, Code 93, Code 128, Code 16k, Plessey, Industrial 2/5, Codabar, Interleaved 2/5, Code 11, UPC/EAN/JAN
- Scanned data is transferred to system through keyboard interface
- Barcode reader parameters are programmable

Magnetic stripe card reader
- Capable of reading any ISO 7812-compliant magnetic stripe card
- Up to 3 tracks can be read
- Scanned data is transferred to system through keyboard interface
- MTBF 400,000 read cycles
- Magnetic stripe reader parameters are programmable

Smart card reader
- According to CTAP/MKT
- RS232 interface
Please ensure that your application software supports the smart card reader.

Interfaces
- One main card reader (ID-1 format) mounted vertically according to ISO 7816/1-3
- Push-pull card reader with springloaded contacts
- MTBF 200,000 read cycles
- Active short-circuit breaker protects smart card by deactivating interface within 125 µs; max. current 100mA in conformance with test specification GSM 11.10

Programmable keys
All keys except alphanumeric keys can be programmed with up to 16 characters each.
41 programmable keys are equipped with keycaps which users can label themselves. Keys can be programmed manually or with the help of Cherry's configuration software.
