APG Cash Drawer
APG Smart SerialPRO Interface #212A
Programmable Serial

An APG serial interface works with open architecture systems that
use a computer or terminal to create point-of-sale systems without
requiring a printer to operate the cash drawer. APG's serial
interfaces are compatible with all popular software using a serial
interface cash drawer.
APG's serial interfaces come in dedicated and programmable
models. The APG SerialPRO II Dedicated Serial interface incorporates
unique digital technology to maximize flexibility and eliminate
unauthorized openings, providing a higher level of security than
most other dedicated interfaces. In addition, it doesn't require its
own power supply and it is available in any of the APG cash drawer
product lines.
APG's easy-to-program, Smart SerialPRO interface comes with a "Y"
cable making it ideal when the serial cash drawer needs to share a
port with a pole display or another device. The Smart SerialPRO is
especially applicable for vertical markets that use a standard 80
column printer at the POS workstation such as home improvement
centers, auto parts, and rental stores. This interface is fully
programmable to ensure compatibility with all specific serial
interface requirements. It's available in the APG Classic and Series
6000 cash drawers.
Both products include DIP switches and diagnostic lights to
facilitate easy programming and quick installation. A drawer status
reporting feature is included to support the system's security.
Digital technology ensures that these interfaces will not
accidentally activate when the power goes on or off.
In an open architecture system, the best solution is an APG
serial interface cash drawer.
APG Cash Drawer Smart SerialPRO
Programmable Serial Interface
Product description
The Programmable Serial interface is the most secure and versatile
cash drawer interface for serial interface applications. Its unique
design allows it to be programmed to your specific opening character
sequence with the use of a set of DIP switches located on the bottom
of the drawer. This programmability, combined with the supplied "Y"
cable, allows the drawer to share a serial port with another cash
drawer or another serial device such as a pole display. A drawer
status switch feature allows for better cash control by reporting
back the drawer position.
Diagnostic lights mounted on the circuit board make setup quick and
easy when time is critical. The included set of gender change
connectors make installations go quickly since it can be plugged
into any standard serial port.
