APG Cash Drawer Smart SerialPRO® Programmable Serial Interface

Product description
The Programmable Serial interface is the most secure and versatile cash drawer interface for serial interface applications. Its unique design allows it to be programmed to your specific opening character sequence with the use of a set of DIP switches located on the bottom of the drawer. This programmability, combined with the supplied "Y" cable, allows the drawer to share a serial port with another cash drawer or another serial device such as a pole display. A drawer status switch feature allows for better cash control by reporting back the drawer position.
Diagnostic lights mounted on the circuit board make setup quick and easy when time is critical. The included set of gender change connectors make installations go quickly since it can be plugged into any standard serial port.

Product features

  • DIP switch selection of character(s) for opening the drawer

  • Uses 1 or 2 characters for opening (user selectable).

  • DIP switch selection of serial port protocol

  • Diagnostic lights provide setup information for power, signal received and serial port protocol

  • External 115 VAC power supply is provided

  • Share the port with another drawer or other serial products with the "Y" cable provided
    - 60" leg of "Y" cable terminated with a DB25F connector
    -15" leg of "Y" cable terminated with a DB25M connector

  • DB25M to DB9F and DB25M to DB25M serial port adapters are provided.

This interface is available in the Classic and S6000 product lines.

Product description
The SerialPRO® II Dedicated Serial interface is a cost effective, dedicated serial interface. A unique digital design provides several DIP switch selectable opening pulse/character choices and helps prevent unauthorized openings. The drawer must be the only device attached to the serial port for proper operation.

The interface is powered by the serial port which eliminates the need for an external power supply and cable. A drawer status switch feature allows for better cash control by reporting back to the software the position of the drawer. Diagnostic lights mounted on the circuit board make setup quick and easy when time is critical.

  • DCE or DTE source input is DIP switch selectable

  • Powered by the serial port, it can consistently be opened every 6 seconds

  • Included 12VDC external power supply may be used if faster openings are desired

  • Diagnostic LEDs provide setup information for power and signal received

  • DIP switch selection of pulse/character selection

  • DIP switch selection of drawer status reporting choices include CTS, RI or none

  • Hardware handshake provided

  • 5' external interface cable terminated with a DB9F

  • 12" DB9M to DB25F adapter cable provided

Limited warranty
