AML SoftCom Keyboard Emulation Software

AML SoftCom is a PC software program that captures data from a PC’s serial port and transfers it to the keyboard buffer. This allows you to read data from any RS-232 device into any DOS or Windows application program. The PC’s keyboard remains fully functional and may be used for normal data entry.

AML SoftCom makes it easy to add bar code scanning capabilities to laptop or notebook computers. Since the keyboard on these computers is not detachable, a standard “hardware wedge” bar code decoder cannot be connected between the keyboard and the computer. AML SoftCom remedies this problem by enabling an RS-232 serial scanner to be connected to the portable computer’s serial port. The bar code data is captured from the reader and transferred to the keyboard buffer. The data appears as if typed from the keyboard.
